Pastor Karen Kay Estes

Background

Karen comes to us from Central Florida Presbytery where she served as an Associate Pastor. Before that she served as Associate Pastor in Memphis and in Lewisburg, TN. and as a Christian Education Intern in Nashville, TN. She has also served at the Presbytery level in FL and TN. She has been involved in every aspect of church life and really loves a small, family-oriented, multicultural church although she has been trained at the national level in Christian Education, Youth Ministry, and Spiritual practices.

Karen has led both traditional and contemporary services and preaches from the Lectionary. She has a beautiful voice and she and her son Martin both sing in the choir. It just gets better, doesn’t it? She and both her sons have drama in their blood and enjoy performing. She is vibrant and energetic. She is also mission-minded and has led mission trips and participated  in “Habitat for Humanity” and “Heifer International”.

Karen’s formal education is impressive. She graduated with a MDiv from Columbia Theological Seminary in 1993 and earned her BS, Magna Cum Laude, from Vanderbilt University in 1990.

Karen is married to Jon-Paul and they have 2 sons, Martin, 15, and Alexander, 10.
